

Scott was fascinated with music since he was a young
child. He started playing drums about the time he was in
kindergarten. His father who was a drummer bought him
a toy drum set and showed him how to play them. In third
grade he started piano lessons and in the fifth grade he
took up the trumpet. In the seventh grade he formed his
first band featuring dixieland music. In the eighth grade he
started playing the organ in rock bands.
He received many first place awards for local and state
contests. He was the trumpet soloist in the Big Band Jazz
Ensemble of Jefferson Senior High School and The University
Of Wisconsin - Whitewater. He won the Sophomore Band
Spirit Trophy in senior high school in Jefferson, Wisconsin.
He is a graduate of The University Of Wisconsin - Whitewater
with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in music. Following college
he worked for Getzen Musical Instrument Co. Of Marengo,
Illinois, makers of Doc Severinsen trumpets.
In 1976 he began working for Warren-Schey House of Music,
a full line music store in Watertown, Wisconsin. The following
year he bought this music store and eventually re-named it
Langholff Music.
Since 1985 Scott has resided in Florida continuing in music
retail selling, teaching and performing concerts and dinner
dances on organ and keyboard. He was with Fletcher
Music Centers many years and was the Manager and
Director of Education in Pensacola, Florida. He was also
associated with Dollarhide’s Music of Pensacola as home
organ specialist and educator.
Scott plays most instruments, but has concentrated on
performing on the trumpet, saxophone, organ, keyboard,
and drums. He has performed in a wide variety of bands
playing styles of music including swing, jazz, rock, polkas and
big band music.
